We are Jake and Amy. We’re embracing simplified life, partly testing out if rural living is for us and going on little side-quests as the seasons shift.

We’re fortunate and so grateful to have Amy’s maternal family farm in Treaty 4 territory as a home base at this time.

Sometimes we’ll be on the move. Sometimes we’ll be on the homestead. We’ll stay curious always, undertaking new projects, learning how to be idle and blessed, learning to notice what’s inside and around ourselves.

This is a place where you can keep up with us if you like.

A selfie of Amy and Jake, smiling and bundled up in parkas and knitted winter toques made by Amy. Amy is also wearing a colourful handknitted scarf she made. Amy wears her thin, tortoise-shell and gold rimmed glasses, and Jake wears his thick tortoise shell and green rimmed glasses. They are surrounded by snow-covered pine trees at Falcon Trails Resort. The sky is overcast and white. They are white Canadian settler-decendants in their early 40s and 50s. Photo taken December 2024.
